Big Data Europe consortium successfully completed the 3rd Workshop in the energy sector on the 28th of November, 2017 in Amsterdam, within the Wind Europe Conference and Exhibition 2017. The workshop provided a key opportunity for stakeholders in the wind energy sector to be updated on the latest developments related to BigDataEurope’s platform and pilot case and discuss future possibilities with BDE platform. Also BDE was presented in conference poster session and at CRES exhibition area (1E83). The workshop was attended by 34 stakeholders from industry, academia, service providers, research institutes and engineers.
The workshop was introduced by Mr Mark van Stiphout (Deputy Head of DG ENER C.2) with a review of EU R&I priorities on Energy and Digitalisation. BDE project was presented by Prof. Maria-Ester Vidal (Fraunhofer IAIS), the technical details for the platform by Mr Ivan Ermilov (University of Leipzig) and the energy pilot by CRES.
The speakers from the energy community represented major developers such as VATTENFALL and TERNA, academia and institutes (University of Brussels, QWI Lab), and service providers (ALTSOL, ARESSE and WoodGroup). The workshop content was condensed and of quality keeping the high interest of the audience. The following discussions mainly focused on the future use of BDE platform and the research prospects.
