Utilizing Linked Data and Big Data for organisational and enterprise purposes will be one of the next big challenges in the evolution of the web. The Linked Data paradigm is an approach to coping with Big Data, as it advances the hypertext principle from a web of documents to a web of rich data. This year’s SEMANTiCS conference discuss the future agenda on research and implementation of a joint technology development of Big Data and Linked Data.
BDE was present with several talks and a daily showcase of the new born BDE platform. The audience’s interest show, that the developments to include a semantic layer into the BDE stack are of high importance in both – the Big Data and the Linked Data World.
The twelfth edition of SEMANTiCS combined 276 researchers, professionals and practitioners from across the globe – from a total of 30 different countries. 6 parallel scientific tracks, industrial workshops and tutorials provided a forum for discussion and learning about the recent and advanced topics in Semantic Web research. The conference program included a total of 6 keynote speakers, 40 industry presentations, 30 scientific paper presentations, 40 poster & demo presentations and a huge number of satellite events.
Over 30 participants attended the first BigDataEurope workshop dedicated to the societal challenge of Smart Green, and Integrated Transport in Bordeaux on 7 October 2015.
