We are pleased to officially launch the BigDataEurope project which aims at developing a Big Data platform based on requirements identified with stakeholders from the seven H2020 societal challenges: Climate, Energy, Health, Transport, Social sciences, Food and Security. The consortium will engage with these communities to identify their big data technology needs, to design and realise the required ICT infrastructure and support the use and deployment of the platform.
“With this platform, we will provide companies and institutions an integrated and ready-to-use palette of Big Data tools that is adapted to their particular needs,” Prof. Dr. Sören Auer, project coordinator at Fraunhofer IAIS, explains. “Small and medium-sized companies will especially benefit from the lowered entrance barrier barrier into the Big Data world as we offer them the opportunity to easily understand and use state-of-the-art data science techniques for their businesses.”
To mark the launch of the project, all BigDataEurope partners invite interested stakeholders as well as journalists to participate in the public launch event, to be held on the 27th of February 2015, in Brussels, Belgium. Find ore information about the event and registration on the events’ page.
