Webinar: OpenPHACTS Re-engineered with Big Data Europe

April 4, 2017 @ 15:00 - 16:00

Join the Open PHACTS Foundation, VU Amsterdam, and TenForce for the latest update on our Big Data Europe pilot in Societal Challenge 1: Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing.

Please Register here and you will receive joining instructions via e-mail.

Last year we successfully completed the first phase of this pilot, replicating the functionality of the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform on the BDE infrastructure. The Open PHACTS Discovery Platform brings together pharmacological data resources in an integrated, interoperable infrastructure, and has been developed to reduce barriers to drug discovery for industry, academia, and small businesses.

Join us in this hangout to learn more about the progress we’ve made, and what’s coming next. We will be presenting the current state of the SC1 pilot, after which there will be time for you to ask any questions you may have about Open PHACTS and Big Data Europe.

Webinar agenda:

  1. General overview of the Big Data Europe project and Societal Challenges it addresses.
  2. Explanations of the Big Data Europe infrastructure, generic components that are being developed, and their flexibility for different applications.
  3. Latest details of the current state of the Open PHACTS architecture in BDE, and ongoing work.
  4. Questions and discussion: open for anyone to participate!

The intended audience is people acquainted with basic development tools like Docker and GitHub, with an interest in Big Data and Drug Discovery. Anyone is welcome to attend – this is your chance to meet and talk to key developers behind Open PHACTS and Big Data Europe.
