WINDEUROPE is a non-profit organization that represents the Wind Industry with the scope of promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide. It has over 500 members, active in over 50 countries, including wind turbine manufacturers with a leading share of the world wind power market, plus component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and renewables associations, developers, contractors, electricity providers, finance and insurance companies, and consultants.
WindEurope organises numerous regular events: conferences, exhibitions, launches, seminars and workshops encouraging the exchange of international experience on policy, finance and technical developments, and showcase the latest technology.
Of importance are the regular technology workshops that are organized for the industry by the industry. During the forthcoming workshop Resource Assessment 2017 various topics will be addressed namely: advanced flow modelling, siting and layout design optimization, outputs in real conditions, measurements and analysis and wakes. Under all topics, the workshop welcomes presentations covering how to handle big data, how resource assessment can contribute to minimizing the cost of energy, and how to reduce uncertainty.
BigDataEurope seizes the opportunity to present Big Data Europe Integrator Platform (BDI) and pilot developments in the event. The extension of the BDE pilot for dynamic downscaling with boundary layer simulations (CFD) for the application to resource assessment field will be discussed.
WindEurope event flagship is the Annual Conference to be held at the end of November. BigDataEurope will participate in the event, presenting to the community the final BDE platform and the operating pilot cases in Energy domain.
