The 3rd ESA International Security Symposium (ISS) will take place at ESRIN in Frascati (Rome) on 13-14 February 2017. This international event intends to discuss the challenges related to security of Big Data (e.g. access, analysis, capture, data management and integration, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualisation, querying, updating) and their impact on the activities and security of international and national organisations. It will offer a unique opportunity for information exchange, technical discussions and networking between industry security officers, engineers, decision and policy makers, space and ground system operators and institutional organisations ranging from space agencies to academia.
The EU Satellite Centre, Secure Societies Domain Leader, will participate with an oral presentation entitled “Information Security Challenges in the Big Data Era”. A key challenge in the Big Data era for an international organization like the EU Satellite Centre is how to pursue security compliance while innovating and integrating new technologies. In particular, it is crucial to adhere to a set of good practices and technical design decisions, positively influencing on security from different angles (data, software, infrastructure or humans), mitigating the Big Data security threats.
More information on the event and the agenda can be found on the symposium website.
